Friends of Jack Moore Flutes
I play a Jack Moore flute. Jack Moore was a great independent flute maker, an alum of the renowned instrument makers in Elkhart, IN. When he struck out on his own, Jack created his own instruments in his one-man shop in nearby southern Michigan. Jack Moore worked closely with William Bennett on Wibb's scale systems and was known not only for gorgeous instruments, but also for being be able to make any sort of unusual modification a player could request. Below are two articles: one published by fellow maker, Michael C. Botha, followed by a tribute by Tom Lacy. Jack Moore passed away in 2018. Following is a link to a facebook group of owners and fans of Jack Moore Flutes.
